A Message for Everyone*

The people couldn’t believe what they were hearing. It seemed crazy! Noah, the big boat builder, was telling them that God was going to send a flood. They had never even seen rain. Water falling in big drops from the sky? Water covering all the land in the whole world? No way! The people shook their heads and laughed.

For 120 years Noah and his family built the ark. And for 120 years Noah preached to the people. He warned them of the coming flood, and told them about the safe place on the boat. But nobody believed Noah. Not a single one.

Finally the ark was ready. One last time Noah begged the people to come inside the ark and be safe. God loved His people “with a love that will last forever” (Jeremiah 31:3, ICB). But the people didn’t love God. They refused to listen. Instead they just teased Noah and joked about the Flood. They had made their choice. It made God and Noah so sad.

Then God said something to Noah. What was it? Read Genesis 7:1.

The big door on the side of the boat was wide open. It was time to go into the ark. God would save Noah and his family, just as He had promised. Jesus promises to save us too when He comes back to take us to heaven from this sinful world.
