NOVEMBER — LIFT UP JESUS AS OUR PERFECT INTERCESSOR AND JUDGE

ALL JUDGMENT GIVEN TO THE SON

“For as the Father has life in Himself, so He has granted the Son to have life in Himself. And He has given Him authority to execute judgment, because He is the Son of Man.” — John 5:26, 27.

🔰 The Father has entrusted all judgment to the Son. Christ will announce the reward of faithfulness. “The Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son… And hath given Him authority to execute judgment because He is the Son of Man.” Christ took upon Himself humanity and lived a pure and holy life on earth. Because of this, He has received the appointment to be Judge. The One who holds the position of Judge is God manifested in the flesh.

🔰 How great will be our joy to recognize our Teacher and Redeemer, still bearing the marks of the cross, shining with glory, adding special value to the crowns the redeemed receive from His hands — the very hands that were stretched out to bless His disciples when He ascended to heaven. The same voice that said, “Lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world,” now invites the redeemed to draw near into His presence. The very One who gave His life for them, who through His grace led their hearts to repentance and made them aware of their need for repentance, now receives them into His joy. Behold how they love Him! What they gain from their hope is far greater than they ever expected. Their joy is complete as they cast their glittering crowns at the feet of their Savior…

🔰 Judgment will be conducted according to the law God has established. By the very law human beings are required to obey now — a law many refuse to accept — all will be judged. As their characters are measured by that law, each one will find their rightful place in one of two groups. They may stand as holy unto the Lord through obedience, or stained with sin through disobedience… He will set the sheep on His right hand and the goats on His left. Then men and women will finally understand that their deeds have determined their destiny.

🔘 The entire matter of judgment has been committed to Christ because He is the Son of Man. There is nothing hidden from Him. No matter how deep or powerful spiritual rebellion may be, the One exalted above all has borne the sins of the whole world. He possesses infinite justice, goodness, and truth. He has power over principalities, authorities, and spiritual wickedness in high places. Clothed as the Commander of the Lord’s army, He comes forth to defend His people. His righteousness covers all who love and trust Him. This great Captain leads the heavenly host to stand as a wall of fire around His people. He alone is the righteous Judge of their cause, for He created them and redeemed them at infinite cost to Himself. He will ensure that obedience to God’s commandments is honored.
